Product description

Lagrein "Merlau" is pressed grapes, that grow on the "Merlau" in the South of Bolzano. The grape variety cultivated there is the short stemmed Lagrein, which in contrast to the more common long stemmed Lagrein, creates smaller grapes and slightly bigger berries. Our vintage Lagrein is kept for 8 months in large wooden barrels, before being bottled in June.

It is a very fruity Lagrein, dominated by berry-flavours, recalling raspberries and various wild berries. The exceedingly intense red of Lagrein "Merlau" comes almost close to purple. On the palate it convinces with its strong, round tannins and pleasant fullness. Its fruity and fresh character invites you to have another glass of it.

We recommend to enjoy Lagrein "Merlau" 6 months after the bottling and in the two to three succeeding years.
