Product description

Deion:
Bitter chocolate, ripe cranberry, blackberry and cinnamon characterize this full-bodied red wine. Playful and intense, distinctly fruity when young, it has elegant tannins and a tantalizing acidity. With maturation it accentuates refreshing ethereal notes and complexity.

Grape varierty:
Lagrein with small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Teroldego. South Tyrolean Red Wine.

Production area:
Lagrein autochthonous variety, cultivated for centuries in the Bolzano basin, lover of temperate climates, grows in the best exposure of Campiglio on loose and deep gravelly-porphyritic soil.

Vinification:
Harvest by hand in early October, strict selection in the vineyard. Processing according to the principle of gravity without pumps. Fermentation in oak fermentation stands, manual immersion of the mash, 5 - 6 weeks of maceration and maturation in the fermentation stand. Bottled 24 months after harvest without fining and filtration.

Matching:
Excellent in combination with game, stewed beef cheeks, rustic cakes and fine chocolate.

Serving temperature:
It should be served in Bordeaux glasses at a temperature of 16-18 ° C. Intuition and Idea: To propose a different Lagrein, like those that once existed, deliberately traditionalist. It is a tribute to the grandmother's old estate, the Klausenhof farm in the San Quirino district of Bolzano. Before expropriation in the 1930s, due to its happy position it gave an excellent Lagrein.

Ageing potential:
10 years.

Bottle to:
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

Allergens:
contains sulphites.

We see ourselves as cultural and natural ambassadors. For me, being a wine grower means first and foremost the area, the place where we live, the vintage and our way of life. In order to be able to do this unadulterated, we work bio-dynamically. Our steep vineyards around the Bozen valley basin, which we process by hand with great effort, are the basis for producing our natural wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long stay on the yeast, no fining and filtration, minimal amounts of sulfur and a lot of patience and feeling are the stages the grape to the wine. We accompany the entire process ourselves in order to produce unique, characterful wines.
