Riesling Fallwind - 2022 - 0.75 lt. - Winery S. Michele Appiano South Tyrol

The grape variety, which originated in Germany, has found an ideal terroir in South Tyrol. Riesling makes high demands on the site and prefers a cool but sunny climate. This is exactly what the vineyards around Lake Montiggl and the neighbouring sites offer, whose porphyry soils give the wine its special character. The Riesling Fallwind impresses with its fruity notes and mineral acidity, which make it a top-class wine.

EYE: yellow-green

NOSE: intense aroma of white peach and apricot

TASTE: distinguished, balanced, mineral

GROWING AREA:
Site: vineyards around Lake Montiggl and in higher, adjacent areas (480-700m) Exposure: south/southeast slope
Soils: Gravel and moraine soils
Form of cultivation: Guyot

AGE: 5 to 20 years

HARVEST: End of September; harvest and grape selection by hand.

VINIFICATION: Fermentation in steel tanks. Subsequent ageing on the fine lees for a further five months.

YIELD: 60 hl/ha

DRINKING TEMPERATURE: 8-10°.

STORAGE/POTENTIAL: 4 to 5 years

ENJOYMENT RECOMMENDATION: This all-rounder goes well with light fish dishes as well as Asian cuisine and vegetable dishes. In spring with asparagus salad with ham roll filled with Bolzano sauce. A pleasure also with goat cheese.
