Product description

"Atise" is the oldest documented name for the Adige River, which, after the last Ice Age, originally flowed across the hilly area where Cornaiano is now located. The mixture of alluvial sand, clay and calcareous soils around Cornaiano/Appiano provide the ideal conditions for the demanding Gewürztraminer vine to thrive and yield wines like our "Atisis", robust and silky with a complex aroma of rose petals, nutmeg, cinnamon, ripe oranges and lemon balm.

Deion: Full yellow in colour; a deliciously intensely aromatic and floral bouquet with hints of honey and ginger with a flavour of lychees; full-bodied, luscious but dry, the opulence cut by vibrant, firm acidity.

Food Choices: A great favourite at parties and for social drinking, it makes an excellent partner for Chinese and Thai cuisine, creamy Indian curries, foie-gras, duck, lobster or crayfish, as well as blue mould-veined cheeses such as gorgonzola and stilton.

Serve: lightly chilled, 10-12°C

Grape Variety: 100% Gewürztraminer, vertical espalier-trained vines with approx. 5,500 plants per hectare.

Sites: Selected vineyards in the environs of Girlan and Eppan at altitudes of 450-550 metres; gravelly, sandy, in places loamy soils with calcium carbonate deposits.

Winemaking: The de-stemmed, crushed grapes were cold-macerated, gently pressed, the juice fermented in stainless steel tanks at 18°C. The young wine was matured on its fine lees for 6 months.

"Leuchtendes Hellgold.
