The complex wine needs a long period of maturation in order to display its full potential with notes of black cherries, forest berries and violets. The lingering, lengthy finish pairs meaty toast aromas with cocoa and cedar. The aromas reverberate on the palate. Fresh acidity and delicate minerality animate the dense structure of the wine. Ripe tannins remain juicy until the end, giving the wine a lush finish.

Production area: This Pinot noir is named after Italy's most known and famous Pinot Noir CRU, Mazon, located across the valley Kurtatsch. Since Pinot Noir is highly demanding as a variety, and requires a habitat that fulfills very specific requirements, it was planted where it grows best. Afternoon sun, a unique conglomerate soil composed of loam, chalk and porphyry, and altitudes between 300 and 450 meters offer ideal conditions for an elegant Pinot Noir with a long aging potential.

Vinification: cold maceration at 12°C for 3 - 4 days, followed by spontaneous fermentation in wooden fermentation vats with long periods of mash contact (3 - 4 weeks). Maturation for 12 months in French barriques (30% new) and at least one year in the bottle.

Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C.

Ageing potential: min. 10 years.
