Christian Kerschbaumer, along with his parents, his wife Veronika and their children Anna, Elisa, Philipp and Manuela cultivates his 4 hectares of vineyards and produces five excellent white wines and one red variety - the only Pinot Noir produced in the South Tyrolean Eisack valley.

The Agricolturist Christian Kerschbaumer is the name of the successful young winegrower and cellarman the Garlider Estate in Feldthurns. As a youngster, his greatest passion was for motors and cars, he developed his love for wine by chance later in life. Today he is a successful, young businessman who cultivates his parents winery, Garlider.

Kerschbaumers Philosophy is to maintain the character of the vine and to distort the wine as little as possible so that one can taste where the wine comes from. This is one of the reasons he changed over to Biological agriculture and mainly uses indigenous yeast in his wine cellar. The growing zone in Feldthurns Feldthurns lies in central Eisack valley, on a sunny, mountainous slope.

White wine grape growing vines predominate the 45 hectares of vineyards, the majority of which are Müller Thurgau and Sylvaner varieties, which together cover more than half of the land cultivated. This area is however also ideal for growing Gewürztraminer, Grüner Veltliner, Kerner und Pinot Grigio (Ruländer) grape varieties.

The percentage of red grape varieties is still fairly small, about 6 hectares, and mostly covered by Portugieser and Zweigelt vines.
